    • Abstract:
The internationalization and globalization of world markets has forever changed the way that companies must conduct business. Until recently, manufacturers believed in the strength of goods created from self-complacent concepts. Today's wealthier and more selective consumer expects products that reflect status, provide comfort, and save time. This viewpoint article explores the issues and ramifications to business and society that are associated with the corporate globalization trend. The author draws on his experience at Sumitomo Corporation located in Tokyo, Japan to illustrate his viewpoint. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
